After the announcement by the Federal Board of Revenue, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has reduced registration rates for older Apple iPhone handsets.
The PTA said that registration fees for two categories, including those based on passports and CNICs, will be reduced.
The price of registering an iPhone 8 with a passport has been reduced to Rs38,922, while the price of registering the same model with a CNIC has risen to Rs48,314. Similarly, the iPhone 8 Plus registration fee has been increased to Rs. 40,951 with a passport and Rs. 50,546 with a CNIC.
These price increases are the result of a series of changes made in compliance with the FBR’s most recent reforms, which will eventually affect how iPhone owners register their devices in Pakistan.
