Authorities in Australia have decided to kill the Pigeons as they can contain bird Disease or can worsen the Covid’19 outbreak who came crossing from the Pacific Ocean to United states coming to Australia to Find a new home.

Kevin Celi-Bird Said when he discovered an exhausted bird in his Melbourne backyard on 26 December which disappeared from a race in US state of Oregan on October 29.

The pigeon that Celli-Bird has named Joe, after the US president-elect, hitched a ride on a cargo ship to cross the Pacific, the experts suspected.

The pigeon has not only driven the attention of the Australian Media but the Strict Australian Quarantine Inspection Service as well.

Ceil-Bird was invited by the authorities to catch the bird as they believe if its from America, it can spread bird diseases, they wanted Celi Bird to assist them in the matter and he replied “To be honest, I can’t catch it. I can get within 500 mil (millimetres or 20 inches) of it and then it moves.”

Now the authorities will be considering a professional bird catcher, The Agriculture Department, which is responsible for biosecurity, said the pigeon was “not permitted to remain in Australia” because it “could compromise Australia’s food security and our wild bird populations”.

The facts prove that the greatest long-distance flight recorded by a pigeon is one that started at Arras in France and ended in Saigon, Vietnam, back in 1931, according to pigeonpedia.com. The distance was 11,600 kilometres (7,200 miles) and took 24 days.
