Pakistan’s judokas received the gold medal for the country in the Peace and Friendship Games, which are presently being held in Iran, after defeating the home team in the final on Monday.
The Pakistan team consisted of Sher Khan Kakar (-60kg), Qudratullah (-73kg), Junaid Khan (-81kg), and Haseeb Mustafa (-90kg), according to information given by the Pakistan Judo Federation.
In the final, the four-member Pakistani team defeated Iran A’s five-member team 3-2 to win the gold medal.
Pakistan had already defeated Iran B and Afghanistan in group play.
Judoka Haseeb Mustafa also competed for Pakistan in the Kure, and while he won his last bout to claim gold for himself, Pakistan as a team came second and settled for a silver medal.
Pakistan also won gold in the men’s individual event yesterday, with Syed Muhammad winning the 60kg final.
