According to US State Department spokeswoman Matthew Miller, the US urges for free, fair, transparent, and timely elections in Pakistan.
In response to a question about elections in Pakistan, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that election laws should be implemented to ensure timely polls in the country.
He went on to say that the human rights and basic freedoms guaranteed by Pakistan’s constitution should be respected.
According to US State Department spokeswoman Matthew Miller, the US does not fund any political party in Pakistan.
Mathew Miller stated that he has repeatedly clarified the US position on the Pakistan general election, stating that the US does not assist any political party in Pakistan. He stated that the US supports changes for Pakistan’s economic stability.
It is worth noting that US Ambassador Donald Blome assured Pakistan’s Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja of his country’s assistance for holding fair, free, and transparent elections.
According to the statement, the US will assist Islamabad in organising free and fair elections in accordance with Pakistan’s constitution and laws.
