Jawan, the latest film from Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has seized the Indian box office by storm. The film, directed by Atlee, opened in theatres on September 7 and broke box office records, grossing 750 million Indian rupees.
With more than a week in theatres, the picture is still performing well, earning Rs210 million on its ninth day, according to an industry tracker.
According to Sacnilk, Jawan has gathered a domestic nett collection of Rs4.11 billion in India with its recent collection. Surprisingly, it has already grabbed the third-highest-grossing rank among 2023 Hindi releases.
The top slot is held by SRK’s Pathaan, which made Rs5.4 billion following its release in January. Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, which has grossed Rs5.17 billion and is still in theatres, is in second place.
What makes Jawan’s collections even more impressive is that it has exceeded Pathaan in terms of domestic nett collections in the same time period. Pathaan had earned Rs3.64 billion after nine days in theatres, according to Bollywood Hungama, which is Rs377.3 million less than Jawan’s profits over the same period.
Jawan is expected to comfortably surpass Rs5 billion in domestic nett revenues during its second weekend.
According to Red Chillies Entertainment, the film’s production company, Jawan has now grossed over Rs7 billion globally. During a press conference celebrating the film’s success on its eighth day, the team published this astonishing figure on Instagram.
The worldwide gross total is anticipated to exceed Rs7.35 billion on the ninth day, according to Box Office Worldwide. At this rate, the film will have crossed the Rs10 billion mark in its third week.
