Just a short distance from Austin’s Gigafactory Texas, Tesla plans to construct the “Giga Water Loop.”
However, we are unsure of what it is. Even though the firm has numerous ambitious production projects, Gigafactory Texas is likely Tesla’s most ambitious manufacturing project to date.
The project already houses Model Y manufacturing, and the CyberTruck is soon to go into production.
The concept is more ambitious, however, because it also calls for the manufacturing of cathode material and battery cells, both of which will be produced off-site but on the vast campus.
It serves as the corporate headquarters for Tesla, which intends to transform the entire site, which is situated across the Colorado River, into an accessible “ecological paradise”.
Elon Musk, the company’s CEO, only mentioned “a boardwalk, hiking and biking trails, and access to a stream” when he made the announcement.
On the premises of the Tesla Gigafactory in Texas, a new project has just come to light. A new building permit that mentions a Tesla project called “Giga Water Loop” was discovered by Electrek:
Giga Water Loop Project
This is a Tesla Project. On the North Side of the River, a guy wire from an Austin Energy electric pole is embedded in the ground not far from our intended pipe (see updated page in attachment). To hold the electric pole during construction or temporarily move the guy wire during construction, we need Austin Energy’s help.
Although we were able to locate this reference, we were unable to locate the project’s initial file, therefore we are in the want of additional information. That is the location of the concrete plant, which originally owned the property where the factory now stands; nonetheless, Tesla has previously used this address for projects that were located nearby.
Electrek’s Opinion
The project might have anything to do with the “ecological paradise” or it might be a water recycling system as Tesla has been more conscious of how much water it uses in its factories.
