The Ministry of Interior has instructed the initiation of legal proceedings against Afghan nationals apprehended in Saudi Arabia for the possession of counterfeit Pakistani passports and identity cards.
In response to these directives, the relevant authorities have decided to issue notices under section 18 of the NADRA ordinance to 12,500 Afghan nationals, as reported by sources from the Federal Investigation Bureau (FIA).
It has come to light that 593 Afghan nationals were issued fake Pakistani identity cards from Islamabad, and an additional 5,500 such identity cards were issued from Quetta and Peshawar.
NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) authorities have taken official legal action against Afghan nationals found in possession of these fraudulent Pakistani passports and national identity cards.
Furthermore, NADRA has issued specific instructions to the respective authorities in Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar. The Afghan nationals apprehended in Saudi Arabia with these counterfeit Pakistani documents will face immediate cancellation and confiscation of the fraudulent papers.
