The caretaker federal cabinet has approved the jail trial of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the cipher case due to security concerns.
The Ministry of Law issued a no-objection certificate for the jail trial, and the Islamabad High Court will hear Imran Khan’s appeal on November 14.
The case, initiated in August, involves the Official Secrets Act and a missing diplomatic cable containing a reported threat from the United States.
Both Khan and Qureshi are currently in Adiala jail. Imran Khan was previously sentenced in the Toshakhana case but had the sentence suspended by the Islamabad High Court on August 29.
