The Pakistani rupee gained 0.7% against the US dollar during the opening hours of trading in the interbank market on Thursday.
At 10:30 a.m., the rupee was trading at 286.06, up Rs2.08 in the interbank market.
The rupee fell 0.09% versus the US dollar on Wednesday, closing at 288.14.
In a development the Pakistani government and officials, from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have come to an agreement on the review of the nine month $3 billion Stand By Arrangement (SBA) on Wednesday.
Subject to approval, from the IMFs Executive Board this agreement allows Pakistan to receive SDR 528 million ( to $700 million) bringing the total amount disbursed under the program to almost $1.9 billion.
