Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar will leave for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday to represent Pakistan in the high-level portion of the 28th Conference of Parties (COP-28), according to a FO official.
The conference is scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates on December 1-2.
Caretaker Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Ahmed Irfan Aslam, officially inaugurated the NDRMF live web portal dedicated to COP-28 activities on Wednesday. He emphasized that Pakistan’s primary focus at COP-28 would be on energy transition. The Pakistani delegation at this significant environmental event aims to engage in discussions aimed at fostering collaboration in the field of energy transition.
The Ministry of Climate Change, in collaboration with the National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF), organized a Pre-COP 28 event to unveil its dedicated website. This platform is designed to provide updates on the various activities scheduled for the upcoming international climate conference in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, taking place from November 30th to December 12.
Caretaker Climate Change Minister Ahmed Irfan Aslam, along with the UAE Ambassador and other senior officials, participated in the event. Caretaker Minister Ahmed inaugurated the website, emphasizing its role in disseminating real-time information on COP-28-related activities.
Simultaneously, the Prime Minister chaired an inter-provincial review meeting concerning COP-28. The meeting included caretaker federal ministers for finance, foreign affairs, climate change, and planning, along with relevant officials, as detailed in a press release from the PM Office Media Wing.
