In response to the ongoing boycott in Pakistan, McDonald’s has made a strategic move by significantly reducing menu prices, with a nearly 60% decrease. This decision follows widespread consumer outrage over the revelation that the international fast-food chain had provided free meals to IDF soldiers in Israel.
McDonald’s Pakistan sought to address the controversy by clarifying its stance on the geopolitical conflict and distancing itself from political entanglements. The company highlighted that its Pakistani branches are locally owned and operated, emphasizing their lack of influence over decisions made by branches abroad.
A spokesperson for McDonald’s Pakistan reassured customers, stating, “We understand the concerns of our customers, and we want to assure them that our focus is on providing quality food and service to the Pakistani community. Our local franchises operate independently, and we have no involvement in the decision-making of branches outside Pakistan.”
