The Clarendon Fund Scholarships, a prominent graduate scholarship initiative at the University of Oxford, announces approximately 140 new scholarships annually. These prestigious awards are granted based on academic excellence and potential across all graduate-level degree subjects at the University.

The Clarendon Scholarships align with the University’s commitment to advancing excellence in research, scholarship, and education at Oxford.

Here’s a summary of the scholarship details

  • Host Country: United Kingdom (UK)
  • Study Abroad: Study in the UK
  • Category: Postgraduate Scholarships | Masters Scholarships | PhD Scholarships
  • Eligible Countries: All Countries
  • Reward: Full Scholarship | £17,668 Living Stipends
  • No IELTS Required
  • Deadline: January 19, 2024

Scholarship Details

The Clarendon Scholarships are fully funded, covering course fees and providing a grant for living expenses for the duration of the fee liability period. The aim is to reduce financial barriers, allowing scholars to concentrate on their studies. Living expenses support enables scholars to engage actively in Oxford life and provides valuable time for relaxation and socialization.

Scholarship Requirements

To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must demonstrate outstanding academic merit and potential. Clarendon Scholarships are open to graduate students worldwide, applying for a new master’s or DPhil course by the January admissions deadline. All graduate-level degree-bearing courses in any subject are eligible, including both full-time and part-time master’s and all DPhil courses. Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma courses are not eligible.

Scholarship Duration and Reward

All Clarendon Scholarships cover tuition and college fees entirely. Full-time scholars receive an annual living cost grant of at least £17,668 for the 2023-24 academic year. Part-time scholars receive a study support grant to assist with non-fee costs. Scholarships are typically offered for the full tuition fee liability period, corresponding to the course length.

Method of Application

Applicants for full- or part-time master’s or DPhil courses at Oxford by the December or January deadline are automatically considered for a Clarendon Scholarship. No additional documents specifically for the Clarendon Scholarships are required, and there is no separate application form. However, applicants must ensure they apply before the December or January deadline (5 or 19 January 2024) for their respective courses to be considered for the scholarship.
