The Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially acknowledged that ongoing diplomatic negotiations are in progress to establish a new truce in Gaza.
In a statement, Qatar expressed its commitment to sustaining diplomatic initiatives and building upon previous progress.
The goal is to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable agreement, putting an end to the conflict, preventing further loss of life among the Palestinian population, and initiating serious negotiations for a lasting peace. The statement emphasized adherence to international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The previous seven-day truce between Israel and Hamas, mediated by Qatar, collapsed on December 1. Qatar remains actively involved in diplomatic efforts to facilitate a renewed humanitarian pause and create conditions for a comprehensive, permanent, and just peace in the region.
