In a significant development, the Sindh Accountant General (AG) Office has disbursed funds to facilitate the clearance of Chinese-imported buses, aiming to augment the People’s Bus Service fleet in Karachi.
The buses, procured during the tenure of the previous Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government, had encountered delays in clearance at the Karachi Port. The expansion of the fleet is anticipated to alleviate transportation challenges for the city’s residents.
The release of funds followed the intervention of Sindh Caretaker Chief Minister, Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, who promptly addressed the delay issue. The Chief Minister directed the Accountant General (AG) Sindh to expedite the release of the necessary funds for this purpose.
