The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) director, Robert Mardini, has expressed deep concern over the challenging conditions prevailing in Gaza hospitals, as reported by Al Jazeera.
Mardini highlighted the alarming state of all hospitals in Gaza, describing it as a “difficult situation” marked by a complete breakdown of the healthcare system, deeming it both “unacceptable and dangerous.”
Speaking to the Qatar-based TV channel, Mardini emphasized the severe inadequacy of medical supplies in the Gaza Strip, stating that they are grossly insufficient to meet the needs of the wounded and sick population.
He went on to underscore the critical nature of the situation, noting that hospitals in northern Gaza are now incapable of providing essential surgical services.
This declaration from the ICRC director sheds light on the dire circumstances faced by the healthcare infrastructure in Gaza, signaling a pressing need for urgent intervention and support to address the escalating humanitarian crisis.
