Taking a proactive stance on security concerns, Karachi Airport’s cargo terminal has seen the installation of 100 CCTV cameras. The initiative aims to strengthen security measures at Jinnah International Airport’s cargo terminal, covering areas such as the Cargo Terminal, ICI Terminal, and their surroundings.
The comprehensive surveillance system has been implemented to address unauthorized individuals attempting to access the cargo terminal. The move is part of an effort to restrict entry for unauthorized persons, enhancing security and minimizing the risk of theft or unauthorized access incidents.
In a significant development from the previous year, control of state-of-the-art facial recognition cameras at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport was handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The FIA immigration officers now operate a dedicated control room for 24/7 monitoring of passengers and visitors through the advanced camera system. The cameras, equipped with an alarm system, automatically activate upon detecting individuals involved in airport-related cases, preventing their escape from the country.
