Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sherry Rehman has alleged manipulation of election results in Lahore’s constituency, where party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari lost to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Attaullah Tarar.
According to unofficial and unconfirmed results, Tarar secured 98,210 votes, while Bilawal trailed in third place with 15,005 votes in NA-127.
During a press conference in Lahore on Friday, Rehman claimed that the results were altered suddenly while Bilawal was leading in the polls. She asserted that the delay in results was orchestrated to rig the elections.
Rehman also criticized the suspension of mobile and internet services on polling day, stating that it caused inconvenience for voters and candidates alike during the elections.
“We are well aware of the real motives behind the closure of mobile services,” she added.
