Aisam-ul-Haq was elected as the President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) on Saturday.
He secured victory over his opponent Major General (retd) Asghar Nawaz with a close margin of 8-7 in the election held at the PTF headquarters in Islamabad.
Aisam makes history by becoming the first active tennis player to hold the presidency of the federation. He has been appointed to the position for a four-year term.
Additionally, Lt Col Ziauddin Tufail was elected as the Secretary, while Arif Qureshi assumed the role of Treasurer.
