According to the World Health Organization (WHO), malnutrition in northern Gaza has reached particularly alarming levels, as reported by Reuters.
Richard Peeperkorn, WHO representative for Gaza and the West Bank, highlighted the severity of the situation, stating, “The situation is particularly extreme in northern Gaza.” He noted that as of January, 1 in 6 children under two years of age in this region were acutely malnourished, emphasizing that the current situation is likely even more dire.
The WHO’s concern underscores the urgent need for attention and intervention to address the escalating malnutrition crisis in northern Gaza.
