PM Shehbaz Sharif Stands Firm Against Terrorism and Economic Challenges

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has unequivocally declared that Pakistan will not tolerate any form of terrorism originating from across the border. Chairing a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad, he emphasized that the security of Pakistan’s borders is a red line that cannot be crossed.

While expressing Pakistan’s desire for friendly relations with neighboring countries to enhance trade and economic ties, Prime Minister Sharif stressed that the use of neighboring territory for terrorist activities is unacceptable.

Sharif proposed the development of a joint strategy with sincerity to combat terrorism, believing that collective efforts against this scourge will lead to regional peace and address issues such as poverty. He expressed confidence that the neighboring country would seriously consider his proposal and collaborate with Pakistan to ensure peace in the region.

Acknowledging Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, Prime Minister Sharif reiterated the nation’s commitment to eradicating this menace.

He paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the security forces and their families, recognizing their unwavering dedication.

Addressing the economic challenges, Prime Minister Sharif acknowledged the necessity of securing another IMF package while reaffirming the commitment to reviving the economy and reducing dependency on borrowing. He pledged to create an enabling environment to attract investments across various sectors, including agriculture, industries, Information Technology, and mines and minerals.

Prime Minister Sharif also highlighted efforts to enhance tax collection and digitalize the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). He emphasized the need for collaboration between federal and provincial governments to address multifaceted challenges facing the country.

Furthermore, he emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards electricity and gas pilferage, while assuring the implementation of recommendations to reduce government expenditures.

Prime Minister Sharif expressed confidence in the cabinet’s ability to fulfill its responsibilities and meet the expectations of the masses through effective performance.
