Pakistan Railways has announced a significant reduction in train fares ahead of Eidul Fitr 2024, aiming to facilitate passengers traveling back home for the festivities. The fare reduction, amounting to 25 percent, will be applicable for three days during Eidul Fitr, excluding Eid special trains.
The decision was made to alleviate the financial burden on travelers during this festive period. However, it’s worth noting that the reduced fares will not apply to Eid special trains.
In other news related to Eid preparations, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, is scheduled to convene in Islamabad to sight the Shawwal moon. This sighting will determine the exact date of Eidul Fitr.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the Shawwal moon is likely to be visible on April 9 across the country. According to their calculations, the birth of the Shawwal moon is expected on the night of April 8, at 11:21 pm local time.
If the crescent moon is sighted on April 9, Pakistanis will observe a 29-day Ramadan, culminating in the celebration of Eidul Fitr on April 10. This anticipation adds to the excitement and preparations for the joyous occasion across the nation.
