Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb is leading a delegation from Pakistan to attend the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank in Washington D.C., United States.
Accompanying the Finance Minister are the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, the Secretary of Finance, the Additional Secretary, and other officials.
Upon arrival at the airport, Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States Masood Khan and embassy officials extended a warm welcome to the Finance Minister and the delegation.
During their time in the U.S., the Finance Minister is slated to hold meetings with officials from the IMF and World Bank. Negotiations between Pakistan and the IMF are set to take place next week, with Islamabad intending to request a new loan program.
Additionally, the Finance Minister’s schedule includes meetings with representatives from international media and think tanks.
