Iran permitted the release of two Pakistani individuals who were aboard an Israeli-linked ship, according to diplomatic sources.
The Foreign Office played a key role in securing their release, with reassurance provided by the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam. The ambassador conveyed Iran’s decision during a meeting at the FO, stating that the Pakistani personnel are free to return home.
The vessel, associated with the London-based Zodiac Maritime and operated by MSC, was seized by Iran’s forces near the Strait of Hormuz. The crew comprised nationals from various countries, including India, the Philippines, Russia, and Estonia.
The incident occurred amid heightened tensions following an Israeli attack on Iran’s consulate in Syria.
