Punjab’s Minister for Industries and Trade, Chaudhry Shafay Hussain, has expressed his desire to set up a solar manufacturing plant in the province.
According to a report by Dawn News, a delegation from a Chinese solar company held a meeting with the Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade to discuss the possibility of establishing a solar panels manufacturing plant in Punjab.
During the meeting, Shafay Hussain highlighted that it is currently the best time for investment in solar energy in Punjab, and long-term policies will be formulated to promote the growth of solar energy.
Chaudhry Shafay mentioned that there are ample investment opportunities in the solar energy sector in Punjab and expressed his wish to see solar manufacturing plants established in the province.
The provincial minister emphasized that the government is serious about promoting solar panel manufacturing at the local level.
He stated that meetings have been held with more than 10 foreign solar companies, including those from China and the UK, who have shown interest in investing in Punjab.
