The government of Faisalabad is set to roll out 100 eco-friendly buses as part of a major initiative aimed at promoting sustainable transportation within the city. MNA Chaudhry Shehbaz Babar announced this strategic move during a session of the Faisalabad District Coordination Committee (DCC).
Initially, these environment-friendly buses will operate along Faisalabad’s Ring Road in the first phase. Subsequently, plans are underway to expand this service to the tehsil level, ensuring accessibility for students and industrial workers alike.
Highlighting the importance of security measures during the upcoming Muharram period, MNA Chaudhry Shehbaz Babar emphasized the need for proactive planning, urging the DCC to reconvene before Ashura. He underscored the government’s commitment to accelerate public welfare projects, prioritizing their timely execution.
Furthermore, the MNA outlined plans to expedite the establishment of an Information Technology university and a teaching hospital in Faisalabad. Proposing a strategic location near Ring Road on Sammundri Road for the teaching hospital, he envisioned enhanced healthcare access for residents of surrounding areas.
During the meeting, DC Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh confirmed the readiness of local transporters to support the implementation of the bus service, reflecting positive community engagement and support for the initiative.
This ambitious project underscores Faisalabad’s commitment to sustainable urban development and enhanced public services, aligning with broader environmental and economic goals.
