Saudi Arabia Eases Travel for Pakistani Tourists with New Visa Rules

The Saudi government has recently eased tourist visa requirements for Pakistani travelers, significantly enhancing accessibility to the country. Here are the detailed updates:

Saudi Arabia has implemented a new requirement where Pakistani visa applicants can now submit a bank statement demonstrating a minimum monthly credit amount of $750 or its equivalent, replacing the previous criteria.

In 2023, Pakistani tourist arrivals to Saudi Arabia surged by 43% compared to the previous year, reflecting a robust increase in visitor numbers. To meet this rising demand, Saudi Arabia has strategically established six Tasheer offices across Pakistan. These offices are designed to facilitate a streamlined and user-friendly visa application process for Pakistani travelers.

Looking ahead to 2024, Saudi Arabia aims to host approximately 2.7 million Pakistani visitors. In line with this goal, the Kingdom has introduced a transit visa option. This visa permits travelers arriving via Saudia and Flynas to transit through Saudi Arabia and explore its attractions for up to 96 hours.

Furthermore, Saudi Arabia has introduced a one-year multiple entry visa specifically tailored for Pakistani travelers. This visa category is ideal for individuals visiting for personal reasons such as attending weddings, visiting friends or family, or undertaking Umrah pilgrimages. It allows holders to make multiple trips to Saudi Arabia within a 12-month period.

The relaxation of visa requirements is expected to stimulate increased travel from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia. Beyond facilitating visits to friends and family and religious pilgrimages like Umrah, these changes are anticipated to encourage Pakistani travelers to explore Saudi Arabia’s diverse offerings. From its bustling cities and cultural richness to its natural wonders, Saudi Arabia offers a year-round destination for travelers.
