Taipei: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Taiwan is pleased to announce the 2024 New Southbound Short-Term Study Scholarship Program. This fully funded opportunity invites university students from select countries to study in Taiwan from September 2024 to January 2025. The program aims to enhance educational exchange and collaboration between Taiwan and New Southbound Policy region countries, focusing on Mandarin language training and advanced semiconductor courses.
Program Overview: The scholarship program provides a comprehensive package of financial support, covering various aspects of the participants’ stay in Taiwan. The key benefits include:
- Round-Trip Airfare: Up to NTD 15,000.
- Monthly Living Stipend: NTD 10,000.
- Accommodation Allowance: NTD 18,000 per month.
- Health Insurance: NTD 3,300 for the entire five-month program.
- Full Course Subsidies: Covers all costs related to courses, cultural visits, educational trips, and other activities.
Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the MOFA 2024 New Southbound Short-Term Study Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Enrollment: Currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior at a university in one of the New Southbound Policy countries.
- Citizenship: Must hold a passport from an eligible country, excluding the People’s Republic of China (including Hong Kong and Macau) or Taiwan (Republic of China).
- Financial Aid: Must not be receiving financial support from the Taiwanese government, its agencies, or educational institutions.
