Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to visit Pakistan from October 2 to 4, 2024, at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Accompanied by a high-level delegation of ministers, deputy ministers, and senior officials, PM Ibrahim will engage in meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other key officials during his stay.
The discussions will cover a broad agenda aimed at strengthening ties between Pakistan and Malaysia across various sectors, including trade, connectivity, energy, agriculture, the halal industry, tourism, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people contacts. They will also address regional and global developments.
Pakistan and Malaysia share strong bilateral relations rooted in history, culture, and faith. This visit marks a significant opportunity to further enhance these ties.
Notably, this is the first visit by a Malaysian prime minister in five years, with the last visit occurring in March 2019 by former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.
