ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday directed the Adiala Jail administration to present Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan before the court at 3 p.m. today.
During the hearing of a contempt of court case against the jail superintendent for preventing Khan’s lawyers from meeting him, the IHC emphasized the need for appropriate security measures to facilitate the former prime minister’s legal consultation.
“Ensure that the PTI founder is brought to the court and allowed to meet with his lawyers,” the court ordered.
Khan has been incarcerated since August 2023 and faces a series of charges, including contempt of court, as well as multiple other legal cases. The court’s decision is part of an ongoing effort to address concerns raised by his legal team regarding access to their client.
