Pakistani-American Salman Bhojani has won a second term in the Texas State Assembly, running unopposed in the recent election. Representing District 92 as a Democrat, Bhojani—originally from Karachi—first assumed office on January 10, 2023.
In 2022, Bhojani made headlines by defeating his Republican challenger Joe Livingston, garnering 20,182 votes to Livingston’s 14,610. This year, no Republican candidate entered the race against him, paving the way for his unopposed victory.
An accomplished attorney with degrees from the University of Texas at Dallas and Southern Methodist University, Bhojani’s career also includes service as a city council member. During his campaign, he emphasized the impact of local and state elections, encouraging the Pakistani-American community to leverage their voting power on important issues.
He noted, “The vote is a powerful tool through which people can shape legislation in their communities and state.”
