On Monday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian expressed Beijing’s unwavering support for Pakistan, asserting that efforts to disrupt the longstanding trust and collaboration between the two countries would not succeed.
Lin highlighted China’s continued support for Pakistan’s anti-terrorism efforts and pledged to “steadfastly protect” Chinese citizens and institutions in Pakistan. “China and Pakistan are united in facing any challenges to our relationship and in seeking justice against terrorist threats,” he said.
The spokesperson described the China-Pakistan relationship as an “enduring strategic cooperative partnership,” reflecting the deep trust both nations share. “Any attempt to weaken our ties is bound to fail,” he emphasized.
Lin also reiterated China’s commitment to aiding Pakistan’s economic and social progress, noting that collaborative projects across various sectors are enhancing the quality of life in both countries.
In response to questions regarding recent security concerns for Chinese citizens in Pakistan, Lin remarked, “China recognizes that terrorism is a global challenge, and it’s a shared responsibility of the international community to counter and prevent such threats.”
He concluded by reaffirming China’s dedication to supporting Pakistan’s growth and enhancing its people’s welfare, stressing that the China-Pakistan partnership across numerous sectors will continue to advance mutual interests.
