Pakistan’s left-arm spinner, Noman Ali, has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for October 2024, following his remarkable performance in Pakistan’s 2-1 Test series win over England in the ICC World Test Championship. Noman played a crucial role in the victory, taking 20 wickets across three matches at a stunning average of 13.85.
His outstanding bowling performance outshone other nominees, including South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and New Zealand’s Mitchell Santner. This achievement marks the first time a Pakistani player has won the award since Babar Azam’s win in August of the previous year.
In a statement, Noman expressed gratitude towards his teammates for their unwavering support throughout the series. “I am honored to be named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month. This award reflects the collective effort of the team, and it’s a privilege to contribute to such memorable victories for Pakistan,” he said.
Noman’s exceptional contributions were especially evident in two key matches. His incredible 8/46 in the second Test helped Pakistan defend a 297-run target, securing their first home Test win since 2021. In the series-deciding match in Rawalpindi, he added valuable runs and took six wickets, dismissing England for just 112 and sealing a nine-wicket win for Pakistan.
This recognition cements Noman Ali’s place as one of the standout performers in Pakistan’s cricketing history.
