Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli has reached an extraordinary milestone by scoring his 100th century in professional cricket, solidifying his place among the sport’s all-time greats.
Kohli accomplished this remarkable feat during the Perth Test against Australia, where he delivered an unbeaten knock of 100 runs off 143 balls in the third innings. With this achievement, he becomes the 37th player in history to score 100 centuries in professional cricket and the only active cricketer to reach this milestone.
Out of his 100 centuries, 81 were made in international cricket, while his overall tally includes 37 first-class centuries, 54 in List A matches, and 9 in T20 formats.
The last cricketer to achieve this milestone was Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara in 2020. Kohli now joins the elite list, which is led by England’s Jack Hobbs with 199 centuries. Pakistan’s Zaheer Abbas, with 127 centuries, remains the only Pakistani player to have achieved the feat, while Kohli is only the second Indian after the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who amassed 142 professional centuries in his career.
The historic knock comes during the first Test between India and Australia in Perth, where Australia faces a daunting target of 522 runs to win.
Kohli’s latest achievement further cements his reputation as one of the greatest cricketers of all time, continuing to inspire millions of fans across the globe.
