A 5.1 magnitude earthquake shook Lahore, Gujrat, and several other cities across Punjab on Thursday, causing widespread panic as residents evacuated their homes and buildings.
The tremors were felt in various regions, including Jhelum, Kamalia, Khanewal, Chichawatni, Bhalwal, Chiniot, and Hafizabad.
According to seismological data, the earthquake’s epicenter was near Kharian, at a depth of 15 kilometers.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Punjab has reported no immediate casualties or significant damage to property. DG PDMA confirmed that inspection teams are assessing structures to ensure public safety.
