On December 10, 2024, the Pakistan Navy conducted joint naval exercises with the Royal Navy of Oman’s vessel Al-Seeb and Spain’s Santa Maria in a move aimed at promoting regional peace, and stability, and deterring illicit maritime activities.
The exercises were part of Pakistan’s ongoing collaboration with its allies through military drills, which enhance operational synergy and strengthen security in the region. The Pakistan Navy confirmed that the exercise with the Royal Oman Navy was conducted during the Focused Operation “Karakoram Resolve” under the Pakistan-led Combined Task Force 150, with the participation of the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency’s ship Kashmir.
Additionally, the bilateral naval exercise Samar Al-Tayeb is regularly held between the Pakistan and Omani navies, further bolstering their defense cooperation. The Pakistan Navy also emphasized the successful joint operations conducted with the Spanish Navy’s ship Santa Maria, which aimed at increasing collaboration and strengthening ties between the naval forces in the region.
