Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, held separate meetings with the Consul Generals of Qatar and Thailand in Karachi on December 13, 2024, to discuss investment prospects in the province.
The discussions centered on Sindh’s vast opportunities in energy, infrastructure, and trade sectors. Shah assured the envoys of full government support, inviting investors to capitalize on Sindh’s business-friendly policies and resources.
During his meeting with Qatar’s Consul General, Naif Shaheen Al-Sulaiti, Shah encouraged the Qatar Investment Authority to engage in projects within Sindh, emphasizing collaboration in energy and infrastructure. Similarly, discussions with Thailand’s Consul General, Surashete Boontinand, highlighted areas for bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
These engagements align with Pakistan’s broader strategy to attract foreign investment and strengthen ties with regional allies amid ongoing economic challenges. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to Qatar and other diplomatic efforts underscore the nation’s commitment to fostering international partnerships for economic stability.
