Karachi Readies for Extended Drop in Temperature

Karachi is preparing for the cold weather to last longer than its normal duration. The meteorological department of Pakistan do, however, suggest that the temperature in Karachi will be warm ranging between 12-10 degrees. Furthermore, Karachi is also expected to reach the lows of 26 degrees throughout the day and the humidity is expected to remain in high levels, standing at 70 % which is sure to add to the already cool weather.

Temperatures are indeed expected to drop more with increased wind speed on the 17th of January with even more wind expected to pass through the city. Dense and heavy fog is also expected to descend upon Punjab and Upper Sindh which will pose visibility issues for drivers and other travelers.

Slight rain and snowfall are also expected across other regions like Gilgit-Baltistan alongside Islamabad and Balochistan.

As per the advice from PMD, the residents of Karachi must blanket themselves and restrict their time outside, especially at night and during the early hours of the day. Residents of regions that are foggy or bank radial elevenders.
