Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Usman Buzdar, has announced 13,000 new vacancies in Punjab Police.
Addressing the Punjab Assembly, CM Punjab said the decision was taken to address the shortage of police force that has resulted in impediments to active patrolling and vigilance duties.
He lauded Police and revealed the department has solved all high-profile cases including the Johar Town bomb blast that killed at least three people and injured several others.
Punjab government has established 54 new police stations and 37 training centers, disbursed funds for the completion of construction work of 37 new police stations, acquired land for 100 new police stations, and inducted 550 patrolling vehicles worth Rs. 2 billion.
Besides, CM Punjab appreciated the opposition for playing its democratic role in discussing and approving the provincial fiscal budget for FY 2021-22.
He said the 4th financial budget of the incumbent provincial government is pro-masses, pro-farmers and pro-workers, adding that it is the best budget in Punjab’s history.
