Pakistan all-rounder Aamir Jamal has been released from the Test squad ahead of the upcoming series against Bangladesh due to fitness issues. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that Jamal, who has been struggling with back pain since his stint in county cricket, will focus on regaining fitness at the National Cricket Academy.
Jamal’s participation in the Test series was initially conditional upon his fitness, but following medical assessments, it was decided that he would not be fit to play.
In addition to Jamal, Kamran Ghulam and Abrar Ahmed have also been released from the Test squad.
The Bangladesh team has arrived in Pakistan earlier than planned due to political unrest in their home country, where protests led by students resulted in the toppling of Sheikh Hasina Wazed’s government and her subsequent flight to India.
