Rashid Khan, a leg spinner from Afghanistan, arrived in Pakistan late on Tuesday to compete in the eighth Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Khan, according to sources, arrived in Pakistan late Monday night through Dubai. Lahore Qalandars, on its official Twitter handle, welcomed Afghanistan’s cricketer saying “Khush Amdeed‘ (welcome).
Sam Billings of England was playing for Lahore in place of Khan after being snagged by the defending champions Qalandars in an online Replacement Draft for the PSL 2023.
Billings expressed his joy at joining the Qalandars family on Twitter, writing: “So happy to join the Lahore Qalandars family! Can’t wait to play in Pakistan for the first time.”
The spinner, who is 24 years old, will take part in today’s match between the Lahore Qalandars and the Quetta Gladiators in Karachi.
Due to obligations at home, the leg-spinner was unable to guarantee his participation.
