Another cabin crew member of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has reportedly gone missing in Canada, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the national airline.
The missing individual, identified as Jibran Baloch, was scheduled to return on PIA flight PK-782 in Toronto on February 29. However, he did not show up for duty on the return flight to Pakistan.
This incident marks the second disappearance of a PIA cabin crew member this month. Upon a search of Jibran Baloch’s room by the staff, it was discovered that he had left without a trace.
The PIA spokesperson stated that the disappearance of Jibran Baloch has been reported to both the Toronto Police and the Border Security Force.
Notably, just a few days prior, another PIA air hostess named Maryam Raza had also gone missing from her hotel. Upon investigation of her hotel room, authorities found her uniform along with a message that read “Thank you, PIA.”
Maryam Raza had been working for the national flag carrier for fifteen years, primarily assigned to the Islamabad to Toronto route.
In response to these incidents, PIA has taken measures such as depositing the passports of the crew on Toronto flights to the authorities in an attempt to prevent further occurrences of “crew slip” incidents. Despite these efforts, around 12 air hostesses assigned to Toronto flights have reportedly gone missing in the past few months.
