Pakistani institutions were asked to participate in a “Lab2Market” event to showcase their AI-based applied research ideas in the form of projects and prototypes. The event was held as part of the National Artificial Intelligence Forum by the Sino-Pak Centre for Artificial Intelligence (SPCAI) in conjunction with the Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (PAF-IAST) (NAIF).
Approximately 235 projects from 66 institutions in Pakistan were registered in the first phase of the event. Out of these 235, 60 ideas were chosen for the second phase, which featured the students’ “Three-Minute Pitch (3MP).”
The second stage was held digitally on August 23, 2021, and 28 concepts were chosen for display at the NAIF following a comprehensive review of each project. The presented works were thoroughly assessed by NAIF specialists, and the top three projects were chosen for prize awards.
