The Coca-Cola 46th Aibak Polo Cup matches, held on Tuesday at the Lahore Polo Club grounds, were won by the teams Barry’s/DS Polo and Diamond Paints.
Team Rijas was defeated by Barry’s/DS Polo 9-5 in the opening match of the day. For the winning team, Rulo Trotz performed excellently and scored an incredible seven goals. Nafees Barry and Daniyal Shaikh both contributed one goal apiece while playing well. Team Rijas, which had a two-goal handicap advantage, scored one goal each from Faisal Shehzad, Mustafa Aziz, and Nazar Dean Ali Khan.
Diamond Paints defeated Master Paints by a score of 9-5 in the second match of the first day, all thanks to the phenomenal Mir Shoaib Ahmed’s outstanding performance. Mir Shoaib Ahmed, CEO of Diamond Paints, scored four spectacular goals beneath the neck to win the day.
Mustafa Monnoo and Ahmed Ali Tiwana were the other two standout performances; each of them put up a stunning brace. Additionally, Lt. Col. Omer Minhas played effectively and scored one goal. Sufi Muhammad Amir scored two goals, and Manuel Carranza scored three goals while playing well for Master Paints Black.
The first match today (Wednesday) will be played between Remington Pharma and Diamond Paints/Sheikhoo Steel at 12:30 pm, the second one between Guard Rice and Remounts at 1:30 pm, and the third one between Newage Cables/Master Paints and FG/Din Polo at 2:30 pm here at the Lahore Polo Club ground.
