Derbyshire County Cricket Club has signed former Pakistan pace wonder Mohammad Amir as an overseas player for the first few months of the 2024 season.
Derbyshire’s head of cricket, Mickey Arthur, who also serves as Pakistan’s director of cricket, referred to Amir as an ‘asset’ for his squad and recognized the tremendous expertise Amir would bring to county cricket.
“To put it simply, he is still one of the world’s best bowlers.” He has a terrific swing and is a match-winner. Amir is exactly what we required for our setup. “He is just a huge asset to us,” Arthur stated on Amir’s YouTube channel.
It’s worth mentioning that Arthur has an intriguing link with Amir because he was Pakistan’s full-time head coach from 2016 to 2019 when Amir was a key element of their bowling attack.
