Amna Baloch, a Grade-22 officer in the Foreign Service of Pakistan, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Amna Baloch was appointed as Pakistan’s ambassador to the European Union in Belgium. She will take over her office on September 11 this month.
The current Foreign Secretary, Muhammad Cyrus Sajjad Qazi, will retire on September 10. Cyrus Sajjad has been appointed as a member of the Federal Public Service Commission.
Amna Baloch is set to become Pakistan’s second female foreign secretary, succeeding Tehmina Janjua, who was the first woman to hold the role.
