The IT behemoth has postponed the launch of smartphone picture scanning capability indefinitely.
Apple has delayed the release of a new iCloud picture verification tool aimed at protecting children and detecting pornography involving minors.
Apple has motives for delaying the functionality. The business feels that it is important to first analyze customer reactions and enhance the verification algorithms.
“Based on input from users, social movements, researchers, and others, we chose to collect further information and make improvements in the coming months before delivering these enhanced kid safety features,” Apple’s press office stated.
The firm intends to include this functionality in iOS 15, which will be released later this month.
