Being part of the Fee Reimbursement Scheme of Prime Minister, launched by HEC (Higher Education Commission) Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University awarded 93 scholarships. The scholarships were awarded to the PhD students, worth over 10 Million Rupees.
The award ceremony was attended by the faculty members of the university and the Vice-chancellor Prof. Dr Qamaruz Zaman himself. The event ceremony was arranged by the Directorate of Financial Assistance & University Advancement.
Lauding the work of the government, Dr Qamaruz Zaman of the Arid Agriculture University said the initiative is excellent to promote higher education in the underprivileged areas of Pakistan.
Suggesting the students focus on the research and fieldwork with the resources. He further urged the respective supervisors to utilise the facilities of the university at maximum potential.
Dr Qamar further explained while talking about the university work towards conveying quality education, “we have hired qualified PhD faculty and scientific laboratories have been established in every department and are being regularly upgraded.” Thanking the funding of the HEC, the Vice-chancellor also congratulated the recipients of the scholarships.
