Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari is set to be sworn in as a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) today. The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader’s oath-taking ceremony will take place during the National Assembly session on April 15 (Monday).
The session is scheduled to convene at 5:00 pm with stringent arrangements in place. Aseefa emerged victorious uncontested from Nawabshah in the recent by-elections.
According to the National Assembly Secretariat, journalist accreditation cards issued for the inaugural session will be valid.
In a separate development, President Asif Ali Zardari has called for a joint session of parliament on April 18 (Thursday) at 4:00 pm. This session has been summoned in accordance with Articles 54(1) and 56(3) of the constitution.
