The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee (MC), Najam Sethi, has revealed that a decision on the venue for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 will be made within the next two weeks.
According to The News, Sethi shared this information while speaking to a correspondent who had asked him about the matter while he was boarding a plane to London for a medical check-up.
While responding to the query, Sethi clarified that no final decision has been made yet regarding the venue for the Asia Cup. He explained that all the member countries are presently busy evaluating their options and priorities.
Sethi has been actively engaging with members of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) during his busy days in the UAE, where he made efforts to persuade them to support Pakistan’s bid to host the event. He also presented the PCB’s hybrid model for the event, which he hopes will be accepted by the ACC.
The decision on the venue for the Asia Cup cricket tournament will be a crucial one, as it will impact the preparations of all the participating teams. Fans of cricket across Asia will be eagerly waiting for the announcement in the coming weeks.
