On the opening day of the IBSF World 6-Red Snooker Championship 2024 in Mongolia, Pakistan’s snooker players Asjad Iqbal and Owais Muneer delivered remarkable performances, each securing key victories.
The tournament, featuring 40 players divided into 10 groups, will see the top two from each group advance to the knockout stages.
Asjad Iqbal dominated Mongolia’s Ulziitog Davaasuren, winning 4-1, with impressive breaks of 75. His frame scores were 18-50, 0-75, 0-82, 0-73, and 0-64.
Owais Muneer showcased resilience, coming from behind to defeat Mongolia’s Mendsaikhan Erden 4-2 after losing the first two frames. His frame scores were 0-64, 20-45, 0-54, 10-54, 21-53, and 15-46.
Next, Asjad will face India’s Pandurangiah, while Owais will take on Singapore’s Jia Jun Ong. Later, Asjad meets Iraq’s Ali Jalil Ali, and Owais competes against Israel’s Shachar Ruberg.
The knockout stage begins on September 22, with the quarterfinals and semifinals scheduled for September 24, and the final match on September 25.
